We have just received an email from the BTF which included the following message:
CONGRATULATIONS! 7Oaks Triathlon Club has achieved TriMark Club Bronze accreditation. Thanks for all your hard work. This is a fantastic achievement and one that will help to ensure that 7Oaks Triathlon Club has a successful and long future.
What does this mean? Essentially a recognition that our club has reached certain standards in stewardship and operation and can continue to be affilitated to the BTF. Specifically:
There is standing water on the course and it isn't safe.
Congratulations to the twelve 7oaks tri club members who entered the Swanley sprint race on 10th June which was the 3rd round of the Triathlon England South East senior inter club competition. There was a delay in getting the correct standings because it was difficult to see which club each competitor belonged to from the results.
It was the first round where we had 3 or more people entered, so we opened our account in the overall standings in spectacular fashion by winning the female, second in the male and winning the combined competition!
There are roadworks and temp lights on the route in West Kingsdown.
It is possible that they may be gone by this evening. It seems fairer to give everyone half a day notice rather than risking having to cancel on the night and everyone having a wasted journey.
Race report from Vanessa Gilmartin:
It was a beautiful sunny bank holiday Monday morning for 13 7oaks tri club members competing in the Tonbridge sprint and standard triathlons. Thank you to the supporters who came down to cheer us on. Sam Bennett's intensive training over the winter in preparation for the Austrian Ironman has obviously payed dividends! Superb performances also from Cath finishing 1st female (again!), Georgie showing huge improvement finishing 6th female, Gabi & Grace finishing their first standard. Well done to Jenny finishing 3rd female overall and winning her age group in the sprint race!
It just about stayed dry for 337 competitors who took part in our 2018 7oaks triathon on Sunday 29th April - if a little chilly! DBmax and the first marshals were on site at 4am setting up in the dark, ready for the first swimmers to set off at 6:30. We and the leisure centre were inundated with enquiries the day before when seven fire engines were on site to deal with a fire in the electrical supply control cabinet.
Great news! After the fire brigade were called to the leisure center today, we have now had confirmation that the 7Oaks Triathlon 2018 will be able to go ahead as planned.

Report from Vanessa Gilmartin:
Conditions were perfect for the 35th Tunbridge Wells Half Marathon on Sunday 18th February with a good turnout for the club. 10 runners took on the notorious course and the prospect of THAT hill!
Please note that for this season, all communications regarding the club turbo sessions, inter club Time Trials and Strength & Conditioning sessions will be on the 7Oaks Tri Club (Members Only) page.
If you haven't joined that yet, I'd recommend it. Otherwise you might miss out on something good. All of the TT events are already in the calendar there.
Events and updates won't be on the club webpage or here on the Club Rides page (unless someone wants to volunteer to replicate everything three times ! )
